• Abbeydale has a programme of activities and entertainment for each individual in their plan of care.

• The activities are provided by staff and outside services. Abbeydale ensures that there are activities every day of the week.

• Some of the most popular forms of social and recreational activities include:

• Cards, bingo and board games
• Dominoes
• Sing-a-longs and seasonal parties
• Visiting the drop in centre
• Other musical entertainment
• Films and video shows
• Book and newspapers
• Birthday celebrations
• Outings
• Hairdresser who attends the home every week
• Manicures
• Maintaining life long hobbies e.g. puzzles

• If an individual does not wish to take part in the daily activities, they have the freedom to return to the privacy of their own bedroom. At Abbeydale, the lounge areas are always full with residents enjoying and partaking in activities.

• Abbeydale encourages background music during the day and encourages it’s staff to sit and chat with the residents to get to know them and their life history.

• Abbeydale makes arrangements for visits from clergy of all denominations so that residents have the opportunity to pursue their religious beliefs and practices.
